After 19 years in prison, a terminally ill mob enforcer Frank (Nicolas Cage) is release to live out his final days as a free man. Keeping his condition a secret, Frank attempts to reunite with his estranged son Joey (Noah Le Gros), but when Frank searches out his old buddy Q (Benjamin Bratt), he discovers a secret withheld from him long ago. The choice between family, friendship, love and hate is no longer as clear as he once thought. Frank can no longer deny his need to expose the lies from the past and exact vengeance against those who wronged him, but in the process Frank is forced to face the truths he has spent decades trying to avoid.
